Ben Bush, Jr., age 79 of Hendersonville, passed away on April 15, 2024, in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born on June 26, 1944, in Nashville, Ben was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend to many.

In his remarkable career spanning over 50 years, Ben was the owner of Bush Jewelers in Hendersonville. He not only brought joy to countless individuals through his exquisite craftsmanship but also shared his knowledge and passion by teaching the hunter’s safety course for the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency for over four decades.

Ben’s commitment to service extended beyond his professional endeavors. A 1964 graduate of Hendersonville High School, he valued education and personal growth and was very involved in the Boy Scouts. As a proud Eagle Scout with a silver palm, Ben dedicated over 65 years to the organization, leaving an indelible impact on generations of young scouts.

A man of faith and community, Ben was a longtime member of First Baptist Church Hendersonville. His contributions and presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Outside of work and service, Ben found solace and joy in nature as an avid sportsman and outdoorsman. His love for the wilderness enriched his life and created lasting memories shared with family and friends.

Ben is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Doris Ann Bush; his sons, Trey Bush (Cindy), Alan Bush (Jennifer), and Kevin Bush (Jess); grandchildren Travis Bush, Emma Bush, Abigail Bush, Alijah Bush, and Thomas Bush; as well as his sister, Jane Wilson (Jerry).

He is preceded in death by his father, Frank Bush Sr.; his mother, Vivian Cheek Bush; sister, Sallye Bush; and his niece, Brandie Wilson.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. from First Baptist Church Hendersonville with Pastor Bruce Chesser officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, April 21, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 P.M. at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church.

In honoring Ben’s memory and legacy, let us cherish the moments shared with him and continue to embody the kindness, dedication, and love he exemplified throughout his life. May he rest in peace knowing he made a difference in the lives of so many.
