Robert “Bobby” Smith, age 83 of Gallatin, passed away Friday, June 4, 2021. Funeral Service will be Thursday, June 10th at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon, with Bro. Danny Sellars officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 9th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 10th from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. both at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon. Interment will follow the service at Bethany Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Smith was born May 25, 1938 in Lebanon, TN to the late Lawrence Smith, Sr and Ida Litt Broyles Smith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence Smith, Jr, Willie B. Smith, and Claude Smith; and sister, Barbara Hawkes. He is survived by children, Ramona Kathryn Smith, Robert Lawrence Smith, Jennifer Michelle Netherly, William Jason Smith, Ilette Renee Rollins, Matthew Dayton Smith, and Sarah Mae Smith; sister, Carey Smith Tyson; numerous grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and loyal friends and caretakers for many, many years, Hedi and Bill Zimmerlee and Rose Pasquinelli. Mr. Smith was at Christian Towers in Gallatin for 15 years, where he was loved by many friends and enjoyed feeding the animals. He was a truck driver and enjoyed fishing.
