Overdose Death Leads to Drug Seizure, Arrest in Portland

March 31, 2025 – Portland Police are investigating an overdose death that led to the discovery of felony-level drug quantities and an arrest.

On the night of March 29, 2025, officers, detectives, and a member of the 18th JDTF responded to a reported overdose death. While collecting evidence, investigators obtained a search warrant for the residence, leading to the discovery of multiple controlled substances. Among the drugs found were methamphetamine, fentanyl mixed with meth, codeine, cocaine, marijuana, LSD, and psychedelic mushrooms. Officers also located digital scales and packaging materials indicative of drug distribution.

During the investigation, a man attempted to enter the back of the house by climbing through a fence. He was taken into custody and is now incarcerated with a bond set at one million dollars.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the overdose, and additional charges may be filed. Police emphasize that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
