Wendell Harold Sloan, 90 of Portland, Tn., passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 at his residence.
Mr. Sloan was born June 4, 1935 in Bowling Green, Ky. to the late Marion Sloan and Mae Jones Sloan. Along with his parents, Mr. Sloan was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Sloan; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mr. Sloan is survived by his wife, Joyce Sloan of Portland; son, David Sloan (Yvonne) of Indianapolis, In.; daughter in law, Paula Sloan of Indianapolis, In.; grandchildren, Jennifer Carballal (Richard) of Indianapolis, In., Stephanie Winkle (Tim) of Indianapolis, In., Ashley Sloan of New Palestine, In., David Sloan Jr. of Franklin, In.; great grand children, Nicholas Carballal, Andrew Carballal, Danielle Popov (Grant), Hailey Sturm and Everlee Sloan; great great grandchild, Nicholas Carballal II; brothers, Ray Sloan of Fort Meyers, Fl., Bobby Sloan (Linda) of Portland, Tn., Sam Sloan (Lou) of White House, Tn. and Willie “Bill” Sloan (Bridie) of Portland, Tn.
Funeral service for Mr. Sloan will be on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 3 p.m. with Matt Kline officiating, with visitation on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. funeral time all at Wilkinson Wiseman Funeral Home. Following the funeral service, interment will be in Old Brush Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Winkle, D.J. Sloan, Nicholas Carballal, Andrew Carballal, Bobby Sloan and Sam Sloan.
