Richard “Dick” Raymond Metsker, Jr., Age 75, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away July 24, 2021.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Richard R. Metsker, Sr. and Margaret Metsker.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Mary Metsker, and numerous extended family.
He was a graduate of Belmont University. He served our country for 6 years – 1 year of active service and 5 years with the Army National Guard. Dick and Mary opened “Dick Metsker’s Optical Fashions” in 1973 and operated it together for almost 20 years.
Dick was a skilled craftsman with a special eye for detail. He used his talents to design exquisite polyester and resin writing pens. He also made delicate, intricate, scroll saw portraits of individuals and animals.
The family will be having a private burial due to Covid. Father Robert Osborne of St. Joseph’s Arimathea Anglican Episcopal Church will be officiating.
