Mary Helen McGlothlin, age 98 of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021.
Funeral Service will be Wednesday, August 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Family Heritage Funeral Home, with Rev. Candice Klein officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 17th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Wednesday, August 18th from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the service at Gallatin Cemetery, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 167 West Main Street, Gallatin, TN 37066.
Mrs. McGlothlin was born August 10, 1923 in Sumner County to the late George W. Douglass and Sadie Stilz Douglass.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Hugh K. McGlothlin; brothers, Ben Douglass, George Douglas, Jr., John Douglass, Sr., and Edward “Ned” Douglass; and sister, Clara Sue Rozychi.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Cole (Larry) of Hendersonville, Sue Walker (Tony) of Gallatin, and Ameila Cox (Joe – deceased) of Gallatin; 4 grandchildren, Stacy Rameriz (Johnny), Rosemary Hosier, Kenneth Walker (Gina), and Stephanie Cooley; and 8 great-grandchildren, Corey Simpson, Zach Simpson, Kellen Hosier, Kylie Walker, Abby Cooley, and Hannah Clendening.
She was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church in Gallatin.

The Douglass family was one of the first settlers in Sumner County and Mary was the sixth generation of Douglass’ in Tennessee. She was a life-long member of First Presbyterian Church Gallatin, belonged to “The Friendship” Sunday School Class and “Owls”. She graduated from Gallatin High School and Draughon’s Business School. After retirement, she raised cattle. She enjoyed traveling, handwork, and visiting family.
