Jewell Lee (Denson) Weems

Mrs. Jewell Lee Denson Weems age 79, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021.

Mrs. Weems was born in Red Boiling Springs, TN, on August 18, 1941, the daughter of the late Frank Hargis Denson and Rachel May Williams Denson. She worked many years at K-Mart Automotive and was a homemaker. Mrs. Weems was an avid fan of In Touch Ministries and enjoyed cooking, crocheting, bowling, NASCAR, and watching the waves at the beach. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Weems was preceded in death by four siblings, Ina Haskins, Frankie Foree, Cohen Denson, and Rebecca Thaxton.

Survivors include her husband, Loyed Wayne Weems, to whom she was married on January 7, 1960; daughters, Debora Coe, Terene Hudson (Eddie Hudson), Romona Grissom (Jerry Grissom), and Brenda Andersen (Jay Andersen); eight grandchildren, Eric Coe (Yan), Tori Browder, Zach Browder, Ryker Hawkins, Sydney Rogers (J.D.), Cory Browder, Eddie T. Hudson, and Teige Andersen; five great-grandchildren, Eli Browder, Robby Browder, Bella Browder, James Hawkins, and Jewell Rogers; and three sisters, Ann Gregory, Corrine Wilder, and Mai Coulter. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 10:00 A.M., Hendersonville Funeral Home with a nephew, Mark Rosson, and grandson, Eddie Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and Thursday 9:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

Flowers accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children (www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org) or St. Jude (www.stjude.org).

The following will serve as active pallbearers: Eric Coe, Ryker Hawkins, Eddie Hudson, Eddie T. Hudson, J.D. Rogers, and Jay Andersen. Honorary pallbearers will be Zach and Cory Browder.
