Elsie Dorothy Bridges Moss, age 97 of Bethpage, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024.
Mrs. Moss was born November 20, 1926 to the late Turner Rodger Bridges and Sallie Florence Lackey Bridges.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Sam “Humpy” Moss; son, Charles “Bubba” Thomas Moss; great-granddaughters, Norma Rae Hogue and Jessica Lynn Hogue; great -great granddaughters, Tessa Noel Aulds and Alisia LeShae Moss; brother, Turner Rodger “Squirt” Bridges, Jr; and sisters, Retta Sue Brawner and Ruby Evelyn Suddarth.
She is survived by daughters, Norma Jean “Tuttie” Jones of Bethpage and Carolyn “Sis” Gibson (Charles “Skip” ) of Hopkinsville, KY; sister, Wilma Dean Thompson of Red Boiling Springs; sister-in-law, Bula “Cricket” Lackey of Castalian Springs; grandchildren, Tina Rohde (Pete), James “Tommy” Jones (Rhonda), Teresa Hogue (Scott), Charles Moss, Matthew Patterson (Mary), Christopher Moss, and Terry Newberry (David); 18 great-grandchildren; 20 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, September 26th at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Pastor David Newberry officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 25th from 12:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, September 26th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service at Crestview Memory Gardens with Trevon Baskerville, Eli Rohde, Bryson Moss, Jamie Hogue, Pete Rohde, Scott Hogue serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Blaine Hogue, David Newberry, and David Newberry, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin to assist the family with expenses.
