Elizabeth C. Calvino, 87, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025. Born on March 6, 1938, in Nashville, Tennessee, Liz was the daughter of the late Edward Levi Cole and Mary Frances Spray.
A dedicated professional, Liz retired from the Nashville Post Office, where her commitment and hard work earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues. Known for her spirited personality, she could easily be referred to as a firecracker, delighting everyone with her engaging demeanor and her endearing habit of calling everyone “Darlin.” Liz was greatly cherished by her family, who held her close to their hearts.
Beyond her career, Liz found immense joy in a variety of pursuits, particularly in tending to her flower garden. Her irises were a particular source of pride, and the beauty she nurtured in her garden was a reflection of the love she spread throughout her life.
In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her husbands Harold Caruthers and Joseph A. Calvino; son Harold Caruthers, Jr.; siblings Peggy L. Burton, Faye T. Eatherly, Ernest E. Cole, Nona M. Perez Bush, Linda S. Patrick, and infant siblings William Warren Cole and Mary Ellen Cole.
Elizabeth is survived by her loving sisters, Erma J. Rickord and Patricia C. DelGrosso and her husband Daniel, who will undoubtedly carry the cherished memories of their time with her. She is also survived by a devoted nephew Gary Burton and his wife, Rita, along with other numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation on April 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM at the Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center. Following the service, her final resting place will be at Crestview Memory Gardens, where she will be laid to rest at 12:00 PM.
