David Roy Baldwin

Was born in Libertyville, IL on October 6, 1953, the third child of Roy (Genus) and Genevieve (Visina) Baldwin. He passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2025, at the age of 71. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph Baldwin. He is survived by his three sisters, Carol (Jim), Judy, and Janet; his beloved wife of 40 years, Cheryl (Klein) Baldwin; and their ten children: Ali (Bill) Koester, Elizabeth (Joseph) Combs, Nathan (Holly) Baldwin, Matthew (Lindsay) Baldwin, Anna (John) Herd, Samuel (Katherine) Baldwin, Sarah Baldwin, Rebekah (Joseph) McCall, Zechariah Baldwin, and Clara Baldwin. He was a proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren: Jane, Ryland, JManning, Joseph, Kielei, Paisley, Austin, Logan, Cassidy, Callum, Isla, Kinsley, Dolly, Jackson, and Blair.

David was a devoted prayer warrior, passionately in love with his Savior, and a faithful husband to his beloved wife of 40 years, Cheryl. A master craftsman and professional painter, he brought excellence and precision to everything he touched. He loved the outdoors-hunting, fishing, log cabins-and had a special bond with his German shepherd, Sarge. A “man’s man” and a modern-day John Wayne (a title he would have worn proudly), he was known for his strength, loyalty, and grit. Ordained by Regeneration Nations, he served faithfully as a volunteer pastor in prisons and nursing homes, dedicated to setting captives free and bringing healing wherever he went. He led as Chairman of the Republican Party in Trousdale County for 12 years, helping flip the county red for the first time and influencing meaningful change in legislation and election integrity.

Hospitable and generous, he welcomed many-including high-profile political figures-into his home. He was a trusted leader, known for his integrity, servant’s heart, and deep love for people. He was a star babysitter to his grandbabies (his favorite role yet), a disaster relief volunteer, prayer team member at Regeneration Nashville, and an event coordinator who gave his all to every endeavor.

He recently enjoyed a meaningful road trip with his best friend, Cheryl. His final days were filled with joy and peace, always pointing to Jesus. He finished well and will be dearly missed-until we meet again.

A celebration of life service will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday evening, April 1, 2025 at Regeneration Nashville, 709 Rivergate Pkwy., Goodletsville, TN 37072.
