David Harrison Guy, 68, of Hendersonville, TN passed away on September 11, 2023, at 11:21 p.m. while peacefully surrounded by his family in their home.
David was born in Chattanooga, TN on January 22, 1955.
He was an owner and operator of Sundek of Nashville and had been with the company since the late 1990’s. He was a 1973 graduate of Hendersonville High School, and he later played on an adult kickball team with his wife, Kelly, and friends.
He had a passion for American and Tennessee history, and although he often promised to “make a long story short,” his historical recollection kept his friends and family entertained with animated expressions and details. D
avid could often be found taking a Sunday afternoon boat ride on Old Hickory Lake or searching for new recipes to try in the kitchen. The love, care, and loyalty that David had for his family and friends showed in everything he did, from filling up a loved one’s gas tank to taking a meal to a friend in need.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Carlton Guy and Carroll Elizabeth Bonney Guy and beloved uncle John Bonney (Marjorie).
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 26 years, Kelly Miller Guy; three daughters, Bonney Todd (Jim), Jenny Guy (Jeremiah), and Bailey Guy; two older siblings, Andy Guy (Dianne) and Nancy White (David White, deceased); three grandchildren, Anne Louis Todd, Jimmy Todd, and Harrison Blake, who was named in his honor; nieces, Anjeanette Guy, Brittney Nalley, Katie White, Kendall Elsass, and Annie Williams; nephew Andy Guy III; and lifelong best friend, Crocker Williams.
An open visitation will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow from 4:00-4:45 p.m. at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home, and Cremation Center. https://www.hendersonvillefh.com
