Danny Earl Brooks, age 73, of Bethpage, TN, passed away on Friday, October 24, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd Richard Brooks Jr., and his mother, Betty Jean Harris Brooks.
Danny is survived by his brothers, Leroy Brooks and wife Nancy Brooks of Westmoreland, Ronny Brooks and wife Brenda Brooks of Bethpage, Harold Brooks and wife Teresa Brooks of Bethpage; his sister, Melissa Brinkley of Portland, TN; along with many nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Christy Hodges.
Danny was a co-founder of Special Riders of Sumner County and a lifetime member of the Gallatin Elks Lodge #2547. He was well known for his square-dancing talents – he and his family formed their own group, Danny Brooks and the Checker Board Squares. Danny later performed on the Grand Ole Opry for a number of years.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no funeral service held. A Celebration of Life will take place at the Gallatin Elks Lodge on December 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m.
