Cathy Lynn Allgood, age 70, departed this world on September 15, 2024, in her home in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Cathy, a beloved daughter, wife, and friend was born on September 29, 1953, in Springfield, Tennessee.
She is preceded in death by her parents Cordell and LouBelle Davenport, her sisters Virginia Shumate, Barbara Hamilton, and Joan Murray, and her brothers Ron Davenport and Bernice Davenport.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 52 years John Allgood. She also leaves behind her sisters Venita Bobbitt (Wade) and Nancy Overstreet (Charles), her brother-in-law William Allgood, and her sisters-in-law Martha Smith and Mabel Tholl. Cathy also leaves behind nieces and nephews. Although she is gone, she is not forgotten.
With a heart full of melodies, Cathy loved to sing, often carrying a tune while working around the house. It was as if her voice harmonized with the rhythm of life itself. Beyond her musical spirit, Cathy nurtured her creative side through various hobbies. She found joy in sewing, crafting pieces that reflected her tender nature. Her most favorite and treasured pastime of all was her writing. Love letters written with love and devotion to her husband, letters he has kept throughout the years showing a true testament to their bond.
Services to honor the life of Mrs. Cathy Lynn Allgood will be held at Crestview Funeral Home, Memory Gardens & Cremation Center, located in Gallatin, TN. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 4 pm until 7 pm. Then again on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 12 pm until 2 pm, with our funeral service beginning promptly at 2 pm. Interment will follow the funeral service, also located at Crestview Memory Gardens.
