Barbara Anne McFadden-Strippelhoff, beloved servant of God, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 20, 2026, at the age of 87. Preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Young McFadden and William Henry McFadden.
She was a devoted member of St. Francis de Sales Church & Saint John Catholic Parish in Georgetown, Kentucky for most of her adult life, where she faithfully served her Lord and fellow parishioners. An accomplished artist, Barbara also served in various roles at the Scott County Arts Consortium, including Executive Director and Treasurer. During her tenure with the Arts Consortium, she was deeply involved and tirelessly dedicated to the renovation of the Old Scott County Jail for the creation of the Scott County Arts and Cultural Center. The restoration of St. Francis de Sales Church at White Sulphur was an even more passionate pursuit for Barbara.
Aside from serving her Savior, her most important and favorite role was being the mother of her six children and grandmother to 16, and great grandmother to 22 precious children. She is survived by her children: Chris (Karla) Strippelhoff, Ellijay, GA; Danny (Karen) Strippelhoff, Georgetown; Michele (Carl) Jacobsen, Mena, AR; Lori (Jeff) Jones, Hendersonville, TN; Paul (Traci) Strippelhoff, Georgetown and Matt (Wendy) Strippelhoff, Bethel, OH; preceded in death by her former husband and the father of her six children, Carl Henry Strippelhoff. Barbara is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Kole (Dave) Hill, Cade (Lindsey), August (Meighan), Evan, Avery, Peyton (Katelyn), Blayne (Hannah), Kendall (Caleb) Hall, Rainey and Rowan Strippelhoff, Jessica Tuggle, Nathan (Hope) Beatty and Natalie Parris, Talia and Tia Jones and Lauren Jacobsen. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, who she loved dearly: Tommy (Hannah) McFadden, Steve (Dianne) McFadden, Teresa (Jere) Roché, Karen (Jerry) Hammonds, Barry McFadden, and Charlie (Kathy) McFadden.
Mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, March 25th at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church at Cardome by Father Linh Nguyen. Burial will be at Saint Thomas Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, KY at 2 p.m. Casket bearers will be August, Evan, Peyton, Blayne, Rowan Strippelhoff, and Nathan Beatty. Honorary bearers will be Cade Strippelhoff and Caleb Hall. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24th from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church at White Sulphur. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis de Sales Church.
