Arnold “Houston” Short, age 80 of Bethpage, passed away October 15, 2025.
The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Tanner Troutt, will be held in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage Funeral Home at Gallatin on Friday October 24, 2025 at 12 p.m.
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-7 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time.
Burial will follow in White Oak Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Fountain Run, KY.
Pallbearers: Britt Little, Drew Smith, Adam Balch, Mark Lannom, Roger Driver and Gene Beasley.
Honorary Pallbearers: Jerremy Stubblefield and Junior Lane.
Houston was born on November 6, 1944 in Monroe County, Kentucky to Alma Blankenship Short and Edgar Short.
He worked as a correctional officer for Sumner County Sheriff’s Office for many years.
He is survived by his wife Tammy Short, son Troy (Jamie) Short of Gallatin, daughter Tina (James) Gentry of Lancaster, step-sons Britt (Heather) Little of Westmoreland and Drew (Nickole) Smith of Bethpage, brother Donald (Deana) Short of Oklahoma, sisters Edna Rolin of Lebanon and Carol McDonald of Florida, grandchildren Adam (Salina) Balch, Jerremy Stubblefield, Paisley Smith, Paxton Smith, Ayden Little and Emma Little and great-grandchildren Franklin, Ezra and Lillian Balch.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Wanda Short, siblings James Short and Betty Knepshield and parents Alma and Edgar Short.
