“The Shackle Island community has always been home, and I am very excited to collaborate with the teachers, parents, and students to continue fostering an environment of academic excellence and growth at Beech Elementary,” Ussery said.

Mrs. Ussery is replacing Bobby Elrod, who is retiring after 29 years with Sumner County Schools and 21 years as the principal of Beech Elementary.
Dr. Langford said, “Mr. Elrod led Beech Elementary to STEM accreditation and multiple years as a reward school. Most importantly, he took wonderful care of our Shackle Island children for over two decades. I am thankful for him and his leadership. I am excited to see Mrs. Ussery leading Beech Elementary. She is an exceptional educator and leader.”

“I am humbled and grateful to be given the opportunity to be the next Principal at Station Camp High School,” Mr. Ray said. “This community and school have been home for me the last 11 years and I am looking forward to what the future holds. Lastly, I can’t thank Mr. Crook enough for everything he has done for me, I hope my repayment will be carrying on his legacy and making him proud of what is to come for SCHS.”
Mr. Ray is replacing Art Crook, who is retiring after 20 years as principal at SCHS and 34 years in education.

Dr. Langford said, “For the last 20 years, Mr. Crook has guided the Station Camp community to achieve greatness in all areas of school life. He has also been a great friend and mentor to everyone in Sumner County Schools. Mr. Ray has been at Station Camp High School for the past decade.
