Hendersonville Offers Community Tastes of Local Cuisine

Taste of Hendersonville will return to the Streets of Indian Lake on September 26, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. While local caterers and restaurants vie for awards for being the Best Local Restaurant, the Best National Restaurant, and the Best of Taste of Hendersonville, visitors will be offered the opportunity to sample some of their best recipes. This community event is hosted by the Hendersonville Area Chamber of Commerce. 

Tickets to the event run from $5.00 for children to $45 for a VIP ticket purchased in advance. VIP tickets provide participants with two drink tickets, exclusive VIP seating and access to the fast pass lane for food tastings. 

Participating food vendors include: Anchored Nutrition, Birdie Bros., Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, Cafe 393 on Main, CBD American Shaman, Cuban Cracker Family Kitchen, Embright Credit Union, Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, Kiki’s Kitchen, Lili Bella’s Bakery and Coffee Bar, McAlister’s Deli, Myers’ Front Porch, Nekter Juice Bar, Pizza Ranch, Puckett’s Restaurant Hendersonville, Retro Riders Ice Cream, Safari’s Brick Oven and Grille, Sweet Southern Sips and Snacks, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, The Little Tea House, The Meat Sweats, The Rudder, The Watering Hole, and Vui’s Kitchen.

“This is going to be the best Taste of Hendersonville in our community yet,” said the Chamber of Commerce on their Facebook page. 

Gates will open at 5:00pm. In addition to food tastings and a VIP area, there will be live entertainment from Karli and James until 7:00 p.m., and a Kid’s Fun Zone that will be open until dusk. Judges will complete their tastings beginning at 4:00 p.m. 

Held annually to kick off Restaurant Week, it supports local eateries and serves as a major fundraiser for the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce’s Golden Apple awards program. The award helps support Hendersonville area teachers and schools.

“Just ate my weight in some amazing food,” said one past visitor, “Soooo good!”

Last year’s list of winners included: Best of Taste winner was Safari’s Brick Oven and Grille and the People’s Choice winner was Sanders Ferry Pizza. Other awards included Best Booth Display by Wildflour Cake Pop Shoppe; Best Entrée by Meat Sweats BBQ; Best Appetizer by Myers’ Front Porch; Best Side Dish by The Rudder at Anchor High Marina; Best Kids Cuisine at Pizza Ranch; Best Dessert by Lili Bellas Cakes and Coffee and Best Beverage by Edit.
