Hendersonville Community Mourns Loss of Fire Captain

The Hendersonville community is mourning the loss of a beloved figure, Fire Captain Don Dallenbach, who passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2025, at 58 after battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Born in 1966 in Taipei, Taiwan, Don was a dedicated member of the Hendersonville Fire Department for 32 years, serving as Captain on C Shift at Station 5. He was deeply respected for his commitment to the community and his leadership.

A 1984 graduate of Hendersonville High School, Don was a devoted husband to Denise, his wife of 28 years, and a proud father to his sons, Dylan and Drew. Known for his unwavering love for his family and service to others, Don leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 17, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville. The processional will follow the route indicated on the map below after the service. Visitation with the family will take place at the church on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until the service begins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers, Firefighter Cancer Support Network, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or Live Love Nashville.
