Haunting Halloween Fun in Sumner County

Sumner County is offering lots of great Halloween events in Sumner County. A number of the events are taking place at Cragfont and Wynnewood in Castalian Springs. There are also events in Hendersonville, Gallatin and Goodlettsville.

Be it Trick or Treat, scary stories, or even a good run, there is something for everyone.

1Haunts at the Font

October 21

Cragfont State Historic Site

Time: 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Cost: $12 to $15

Take a lantern tour along the trail from the historic tobacco barn to the Cragfont mansion looming in the distance, enshrouded in darkness. Guests will interact with a number of “restless souls” from the home’s spirited past. Dressed in period clothing, each “ghostly” visitor will have brand new spine-tingling stories to tell this year. Before and after the haunted walk, there will be servings of apple cider by the fire, ghost stories and the soothingly spooky sounds of historic murder ballads performed by the Traveling Caudells. 2Spooky Sprint

Grab your friends and family, and come participate in this Kids Dash/One Mile/ 5K/ 10K/Half Marathon or Virtual Race. It is a fun, Halloween-themed event that is perfect for the whole family. There is a great swag bag, chip timing, free photos, free doughnuts and lots of fun. Anyone who cannot participate in person can participate virtually.

3Hendersonville Church of Christ’s Trunk or Treat

This is an opportunity to connect with the community during one of the most unique events of the year – Trunk-or-Treat. Participants will incorporate a fun theme and interaction with their trunk and parking spot. Hundreds of children will be there to participate in the activities and gathering candy.

4Halloween in the Park

Cost: Free

The event will consist of a DJ, dancing, a pumpkin patch, crafts, games, photo booths, and treats from local businesses and organizations. This is a family-friendly event. There will be carnival-type food available for purchase.

5Haunted Hustle 5K Run

Time: 6:30 a.m. check-in, Run begins at 7:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
Cost: $35

The sixth annual Haunted Hustle will be a morning of fun and it will Sumner Realtors’ support of Habitat for Humanity’s mission to give people good homes in Sumner County. The event starts at 7:00 am and ends with an awards ceremony for the winners of the 5K. The registration fee for runners is just $35. They encourage everyone to come in costume, especially since this year’s event will include a costume contest.

6Trick or Treat at Drake’s Creek

8Hands of Hope Halloween Cookout

Every year on Halloween, Freebird Memorial Group partners with Hands of Hope to do a FREE cookout for the community in the Hands of Hope parking lot. Everyone is welcome to come and eat and enjoy some fellowship. Trunk or treat is also provided. RSVP here.
