Gallatin Water Week To Highlight Conservation, Community Events

A week of free community events focused on clean water, conservation and environmental education is coming to Gallatin later this month.

Gallatin Water Week, hosted by the Cumberland River Compact and the City of Gallatin, aims to celebrate the importance of clean water through hands-on activities, education and volunteer opportunities for residents of all ages.

The week will include opportunities to explore creek wildlife, attend a family-friendly environmental festival and help clean local waterways. Residents, businesses and community organizations are also encouraged to support water quality efforts through cleanups, education and environmentally friendly projects at home.

  • Creek Critter Exploration
  • June 24 | 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
    Bledsoe Creek State Park

Participants can learn about stream biodiversity and local creek ecosystems through hands-on exploration of critters found in Town Creek.

  • Waterfest
  • June 26 | 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    Peay Park

The free, family-friendly festival will celebrate local streams and rivers with activities and educational exhibits.

  • Volunteer Cleanup Along A Tributary Of Town Creek
  • June 27 | 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
    Gallatin Civic Center

Volunteers can help remove litter from a tributary of Town Creek during a hands-on stream cleanup event.
