The White House Public Library is inviting families to celebrate a milestone birthday for one of Tennessee’s most beloved icons with a special event focused on young readers later this month.
The celebration honoring Dolly Parton’s 80th birthday will take place January 24 at 10 a.m. at the White House Public Library, located at 105B College Street.
According to the City of White House, the morning will include a live reading of “Groovy Joe: Ice Cream and Dinosaurs,” learning the Groovy Joe dance, birthday cake, and a craft activity where children can make birthday cards to send to Parton.
Children under 5 will have the opportunity to enroll in Imagination Library, while older children can sign up for a library card during the event.
