August 16, 2024 – Early Thursday morning, a CSX railcar carrying metal shavings caught fire as it was near the Saundersville Rd crossing.
Hendersonville Fire Engines were dispatched and had the fire under control within an hour.
There were no hazardous leaks, nor any hazardous materials involved in the fire.
Shortly after the fire was dispatched, CSX crews arrived to clear the tracks and begin the cleanup process. The scene was cleared, and the road re-opened around 8:30 am.
