On October 9, 2024, Flex Officers with the Hendersonville Police Department observed subjects acting suspiciously around the Target Store in Hendersonville. After looking into their actions, it was quickly learned that the subjects were involved in fraudulent returns.
Mika Simpson (28), Lamont Sherman II (22), and Darayia Chance (18), all out of the State of Michigan, were stopped and identified.
Detectives then interviewed the subjects and learned that they were inserting knock-off Apple Watches into legitimate packaging before completing the fraudulent return. Evidence points to them traveling to commit their fraud scheme so the investigation continues, and the discovery of additional crimes is anticipated.
All three subjects were charged by the Hendersonville Police Department with two (2) Counts of Criminal Simulation, one (1) Count of Theft, and one (1) Count of Possession of Stolen Property.
