A new winter music competition is set to spotlight local talent at Half Batch Brewing as The Voice of Hendersonville makes its debut in January.
The live band karaoke singing competition will take place at Half Batch Brewing, located at 154 Bonita Parkway, and is open to singers ages 21 and up. A total of 36 contestants will compete across three preliminary rounds on January 17, January 24, and January 31, with each event running from 7 to 10 p.m. The top performers will advance to the finals on February 7.
Each preliminary night will feature 12 singers performing alongside a live band. Judges will determine who advances based on a combined scoring system, with 50 percent of the vote coming from crowd participation and 50 percent from two celebrity judges. The top four singers from each preliminary round will move on to the finals. In the event of a tie, contestants will face off in a sing-off using a different song, following the same voting rules.
Contestants must submit four songs when registering: one for their initial performance, one for the finals if they advance, one tiebreaker song, and an additional selection. Performance dates for the preliminary rounds will be assigned after registration.
The competition carries a $45 entry fee per contestant, with proceeds benefiting a local charity. The grand prize includes round-trip airfare for two to Las Vegas.
