Tennessee Tech University is making it easier than ever for Sumner County students to explore all Tech has to offer, right in their hometown. The university’s “Transfer Tech to You” event series will make a March 30 stop in Gallatin at Volunteer State Community College.
“Transfer Tech to You is designed to meet prospective students where they are and show them how Tennessee Tech can help them take the next step in their educational journey,” said Mary McCaskey, associate vice president for enrollment and student success. “Our admissions counselors and recruitment team will be set up at Vol State to share information about Tech and help students see just how simple it can be to transfer and earn their four-year degree as a Golden Eagle.”
The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT in the Mary Cole Nichols Dining Room B, and students are encouraged to drop by as they are able between classes. Free refreshments will be provided.
Designed to cater to transfer students who may not be able to attend traditional open houses or campus visits, Transfer Tech to You helps students learn more about life at Tech and what programs of study are available. Interested students can register for the event at www.tntech.edu/transfertechtoyou. There is no cost to attend.
McCaskey added that transfer students should apply for admission by May 1 to be eligible for the “Flight to Tech” scholarship. The scholarship awards up to $3,000 per year for transfer students who meet the minimum requirements.
“Students simply need to apply by May 1 and meet the eligibility criteria, and we’ll handle the rest,” McCaskey said. “It’s a meaningful way we can support transfer students as they work toward completing their four-year degree.”
Tennessee Tech is rated as the number one public university in Tennessee by Money.com and ranked as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report. The university offers more than 225 programs of study, and Tech grads leave with the least debt of all public universities in Tennessee. Learn more at www.tntech.edu/transfer.
