UPDATE: Message from Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce, October 10, 2024 –

“We regret to announce that Sumner Fest 2024 has been canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. We understand the disappointment this may cause and want to extend our heartfelt thanks for your continued support. Please stay tuned for future updates, and we hope to bring back the festival experience you love in the near future!”

Original Story:

The fifth annual Sumner Fest is taking place once again at Sanders Ferry Park on Old Hickory Lake at 513 Sanders Ferry Park Road in Hendersonville. It will occur on October 20 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. The outdoor, rain or shine event offers fall fun for the entire family.

Sumner Fest features live entertainment; food trucks; a kid’s zone; and an assortment of craft, non-profit and other local vendors offering everything from useful information to handmade items to great early holiday gift items.

Organizers suggest making plans to stay and enjoy all the activities. Bring comfortable shoes, lawn chairs, blankets, coolers, and unopened or reusable water bottles. Friendly, leashed pets are also allowed at the event. Bags, backpacks and coolers will be searched upon entry. On-site parking at Sanders Ferry Park is $5.00.

Coordinated by the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce, the event is sponsored by Piedmont Natural Gas and Hendersonville Lifestyle Publication.

There are many returning vendors, like The Cumberland River Compact. They will be sharing information about the importance of clean and abundant water, as well as local waterways, recreation opportunities, and ways to get involved in the community. A water-themed activity for kids will be offered.

Originally a summer activity offering tethered hot air balloon rides, Sumner Fest at The City by the Lake has become Sumner County’s premier festival. It is an idyllic location to enjoy the fall weather and celebrate the change of seasons with other members of the community.
