Sumner County Schools is inviting students and families to tour the new Carolyn Smith Innovation Center during upcoming open house events in Hendersonville.

The Innovation Center allows students from any Sumner County high school to participate in advanced programs while remaining enrolled at their home school. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore available programs, tour the facility, and learn more about APEX, the Applied Practical EXperience learning model being developed at the center.

Open house events are scheduled for Thursday, January 15, and Thursday, February 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Innovation Center, located at 735 East Main Street in Hendersonville.

Current programs include entrepreneurship, content creation, aviation, hospitality, criminal justice, and project management and leadership. Students entering grades 10 through 12 for the 2026–2027 school year are eligible to enroll.

The come-and-go event is designed for families interested in exploring career pathways, earning college credit, and learning about future opportunities.
