Director of Sumner County Schools, Dr. Scott Langford, along with current and former school board members, current and former Sumner County Commissioners, other elected officials, parents, and stakeholders gathered Tuesday to discuss the vision for Shackle Island Stadium and Memorial Stadium as teams broke ground on the new facilities.
“This marks not just the start of construction, but the beginning of a new chapter for our community,” Director of Schools Dr. Scott Langford said. “Shackle Island Stadium holds a special place in the hearts of many, and this new facility will honor that legacy while providing our students with the state-of-the-art resources they deserve. Memorial Stadium is a place rich in memories, and this updated facility will uphold its legacy, all while equipping our students with the best resources for their future.”
Both stadiums are expected to be complete by August 2025.
