The Gallatin Police Department, Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, and Hendersonville Police Department are teaming up for a “Stuff the Cruiser” school supply drive to help students across Sumner County. With Sumner County Schools no longer able to provide supplies, local law enforcement is partnering with Walmart stores in Gallatin and Hendersonville to help meet the need.
The event is set for Saturday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Officers and deputies will be outside the Walmart locations, inviting shoppers to pick up extra school supplies and drop them off to fill police cruisers.
Officials say the goal is to make sure every student starts the school year with the essentials. “We’re asking our incredible community to come out, buy a few extra items for the kids, and help us ‘stuff the cruiser’ with supplies for Sumner County students,” the agencies said in a joint statement.
