Nashville Predators:

Yesterday the Nashville Predators made headlines. They traded away winger Viktor Arvidsson. In return, the team got 2 draft picks and did manage to clear up so cap space. However, Arvy was a fan favorite known for his hustle and determination. He will be missed in Nashville.

Nashville Sounds: Loss 5-2

The Nashville Sounds lost their second straight to the Louisville Bats. The Bats led 3-1 in the eighth inning when Zach Green on the Sounds hit an RBI double to cut the deficit to 3-2. It looked like Nashville had a chance to complete the comeback. However, the Bats scored 2 more in the top of the 9th inning to increase their lead. The Sounds had 2 on and 2 out in the bottom of the 9th with the tying run at the plate, but unfortunately couldn’t get any runs across. They lost 5-2.

Atlanta Braves: Win 4-3

The Atlanta Braves won in a dramatic fashion last night. Mets’ pitcher Jacob DeGrom was firing on all cylinders last night. DeGrom pitched 7 innings, gave up 3 runs, and struck out 14 batters. The only runs he gave up came in the first inning off Ozzie Albies RBI single followed by Austin Riley’s 2-run home run. After that, the all-star calmed down and mowed down the Atlanta lineup. The Mets chipped away at the Braves’ lead until they tied things up in the top of the 9th. Then in the bottom of the 9th Freddie Freeman hit a line drive back up the middle that hit the pitcher and rolled towards third. Freddie hustled down the line and because he beat out the throw, the winning run was able to cross the plate and the Braves won the game.

 Cincinnati Reds: Win 5-4

The Cincinnati Reds finally put their losing streak against the Padres to rest as they beat them 5-4 last night. This game came down to the wire as the Reds trailed by 1 in the bottom of the ninth 4-3. Kyle Farmer stepped to the plate and launched a solo home run to tie the game. At the very least it looked like the game was headed to extra innings. However, Tyler Stephenson hit a single with the bases loaded and 2 outs to bring home the winning run. The Reds walked it off to win and beat the Padres 5-4.

Golf: Rocket Mortgage Classic

Davis Thompson is the leader of the leaderboard as he sits in first place with a -9 score. The big news out of yesterday though was that Bryson DeChambeau and his caddy Tim Tucker are parting ways. DeChambeau said it is only for a short period of time and they need to take a break. Others around the course believe it could be a more permanent split. Only time will tell if these 2 come together again or depart for good.
