Nashville Sounds: Loss 2-1
The Sounds dropped a close one last night to the Gwinnett Stripers 2-1. The first run came in the fourth inning when Gwinnett scored on a bases-loaded walk. Nashville got the run back the next half-inning when Jamie Westbrook brought in a run on an RBI single. The following half-inning the Stripers plated a run when Arcia was trying to steal second. He got in a run-down long enough for Pache to come home and score. That would be the only scoring of the whole contest.
Atlanta Braves: Loss 10-8
The biggest concern of last night’s loss to the Red Sox was that Tucker Davidson left the game in the third inning with forearm tightness. It looks like he might be headed for the IL for a little bit, but we will have to wait and see the official move later today. The Red Sox jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning, and the Braves wouldn’t catch up until the sixth inning when they tied it back up at 7-7. The killer inning came in the eighth when Boston scored 3 more runs to seal the win. The Braves lost 10-8.
Cincinnati Reds: Win 2-1
The Cincinnati Reds kept their winning streak going as they beat Milwaukee 2-1. This game was a defensive battle on both sides. The game was scoreless going into the extra innings. That was when it fell apart for the Brewers. In a strange turn of events, the Reds managed to get 2 runs without actually recording a hit in the tenth inning. Due to the new rule change in extra innings, a runner starts out on second base, so the first batter had a man in scoring position. It didn’t matter though because he was plunked by the Brewers pitcher. The second batter was walked to load the bases. The next batter was also hit by a pitch to score a run, then finally the last run was scored on a SAC fly. In total, the Reds got 2 runs. They would hold off the Brewers in the bottom of the tenth even though they gave up 1 run to make it tighter than it needed to be.
