College Baseball:

         Vanderbilt Commodores – Win 6-5

The Vanderbilt Commodores kept their postseason dreams alive last night after escaping with a victory over Stanford. Stanford jumped out to a quick lead as they scored runs in 3 of the first 4 innings. The first Vandy run came in the 4th by way of a 2-run home run. Vandy still trailed 4-2. It was 5-4 heading into the final half-inning of the game. In the bottom of the ninth with 2 outs already in the inning, the Commodores tied it with an RBI single by Enrique Bradfield Jr. Then won the game off a wild pitch. The Commodores came from behind to win 6-5.

Nashville Sounds: Loss 13-6

The Nashville Sounds had a game to forget last night against the Knights. It was all Charlotte as the Sounds did not score their first run until the 8th inning. They were down 12-0 before Weston Wilson homered to give them their first run. The Sounds managed to score 5 runs in the bottom of the ninth to make the game look closer than it was. Maybe they can take some of that momentum from the ninth inning and carry it over to tonight’s contest.

Atlanta Braves: Loss 7-3

The Braves took on the NY Mets again last night, but this time came up on the losing end. They were in a hole before you knew what happened as the Mets scored runs in both the first and second innings. Atlanta didn’t score until the 5th inning when Ender Inciarte hit a 2-run home run. They would get one more run later, but not enough to come from behind to win. Kyle Wright was credited with the loss on the mound after going 2 innings pitched and giving up 5 runs.

Nashville SC:

Nashville SC took on Toronto at home in Nashville last night. Toronto scored the first goal in the 26th minute. Jack Maher, who was playing in his first game of the season for Nashville SC, scored the equalizing goal in the 62nd minute. Then in the 81st minute, Toronto scored a second go-head goal by Mullins. It was a quick response from Nashville SC though as Luke Haakenson scored the first goal of his MLS career in the 83rd minute. Then Haakenson managed to one-up himself even more as he scored later in the game to complete the come-from-behind win. Nashville SC walked away from the game the 3-2 winner. They outshot Toronto 11-4,
