Doors open at 5 p.m., followed by swing dance lessons at 6 p.m. The Jobros will perform at 7 p.m., with Rick Jobe and the Wonderin’ Cowboys taking the stage at 8 p.m.
The evening begins with dance instruction from Laynee Day Incorporated, which specializes in styles such as Lindy Hop and Balboa. The lessons are open to dancers of all experience levels.
The Jobros will open the live music portion of the night. The family band carries on the name of Rick Jobe’s father’s 1930s group and features four musicians playing Dobro guitars, including a rare bass Dobro. Their sound blends Delta blues, country blues, and Western swing.
Rick Jobe and the Wonderin’ Cowboys will follow with an eight-piece performance inspired by the music of classic Texas dance halls. Nashville singer, dancer and choreographer Laynee Day will join the group as a special guest vocalist.
Jobe is a longtime bandleader whose career has included work as a staff musician at Joe Namath’s Supper Club, touring with Columbia recording artist Vic Dana and leading Rick Jobe and Tuxedo Junction for four decades. He later worked as a multimedia producer for clients including Disney and NASA before returning to full-time performing in Nashville.
General admission tickets are $25 in advance and $30 on the day of the show. Loveseat and private suite seating are also available.
Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and complimentary parking is offered onsite and in nearby lots. Tickets are available through the Harken Hall website.
