The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office is bringing back its Citizens Academy next year, offering residents a chance to learn how the agency operates behind the scenes. The seven-week program runs from Jan. 27 through March 14, with classes held Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m.
Participants will explore a wide range of divisions and specialties, including investigations, jail operations, traffic crash reconstruction, K9 work, internal affairs, school resource officer programs, and response to active threats. Deputies and staff will guide attendees through demonstrations, presentations, and hands-on activities throughout the course.
Class size is limited, and the sheriff’s office is encouraging interested residents to secure a spot here.
