Mrs. Wilma Dean Moss, age 95, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2024,
at her home in Westmoreland, TN, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Wilma was born on July 5, 1929, to Willie E. Wix and Mary E. Hoskins Wix in Macon
County, TN. Mrs. Wilma attended New Hope Church in Westmoreland, TN.
Mrs. Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Willie E. Wix and Mary E.
Hoskins Wix; her husband Despert Moss, sisters, Climmy Barber and Betty
Barber; brothers, Lloyd Wix, Doug Wix, Willie D. Wix and Earl Wix; children,
Arlis Ray Moss, Bertha Moss, and Carl Moss; granddaughter, Denise Moss
Hammock; and a niece, Lisa Warren.
Mrs. Wilma is survived by her children, Jackie Moss (Dorothy), Peggy Moss
and Terry Moss (Wanda); sisters, Mary Warren and Patricia Vanover; brothers,
Roy Wix and Donald Wix (Margaret); grandchildren, Derrick Moss (Sonya),
Kristie Moss Jordan (Michael), Richard Moss, Heather Moss O’Neil (Josh) and
Tyler Moss; great-grandchildren, Jacob Drummond, Samantha Campbell, Julie
Jordan, Kylie Joe Jordan, Jack Henry O’Neil, Poppi O’Neil, Henley Calvert
and Warren Emberton; step-grandchildren, Shannon Phillips, Jeremy Miller,
step-great-grandchildren Rachel Strong and Jasmine Scarbro; a nephew, Troy
Warren; and a niece, Jerica Sloan; and several other nieces and nephews.
The service for Mrs. Wilma Moss will be held on Tuesday, at 11:00 AM at New
Hope Church with Bro. Lionel Borders officiating. Interment will follow in
Shrum Cemetery.
Visitation: Monday, at 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Woodard Funeral Home and
Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at 11:00 AM at New Hope Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can also be made in Wilma’s name to
help the family with the funeral expenses. You can donate by calling or
coming into the office of Woodard Funeral Home.
