Theresa McDowell Scott, 73 of Portland, Tn, passed away July 1, 2026 at her residence. Mrs. Scott was born September 11, 1952 to the late Howard Clay McDowell and Georgia Mae Williams McDowell in Portland, Tn.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Scott; brothers, Ricky McDowell, Larry McDowell and Jerry McDowell.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her children, Melissa Moore (Chris), Jared Brown, Lydia Penick (Todd), Kerry Scott (Jennifer) and Bonnie Scott; 13 grandchildren, Veda, Vincent, Bryson, Victor, Oliver, Vance, Caroline, Margo, Brisbane, Natalia, Jaxson, Riley and Jase; siblings, Caroline Martin, Wanda Searcy, Linda Ward, Denver McDowell and Ronnie McDowell.
There will be a funeral service for Mrs. Scott on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Wilkinson Wiseman Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Dame officiating, with visitation on Monday, July 6, 2026 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. funeral time.
Following the funeral service, interment will be in Portland Memorial Gardens.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kerry Scott, Jared Brown, Oliver Brown, Chris Moore, Bryson Moore and Todd Penick with Vincent Scott, Victor Scott, Vance Scott, Jaxson Scott and Jase Scott serving as honorary pallbearers.
