Sheila Milliken, originally from Antioch, Tennessee, and later of Portland, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sheila never met a stranger. She had a heart that was bigger than life itself and was always willing to help anyone in need. She loved fiercely, laughed often, and found joy in the simple things—whether it was spending time with her family, taking trips with those she loved, or making sure every stray cat or dog she came across had something to eat. Her compassion for both people and animals was one of the many things that made her so special.
More than anything, Sheila loved being a mom and a grandmother. Her daughter, Stacey, and her son, Kyle, were the center of her world, and her grandchildren, Harlee and Mylee, were truly her greatest joy. She cherished every moment she spent with them and loved watching them grow. She also adored her favorite cat, Asher Zayne, who held a very special place in her heart.
Sheila was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Runnels Moss; her nephew-in-law, David Reece Bledsoe; and her beloved nephew, Austin Wayne Dill, whom she loved as if he were one of her own.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving daughter, Stacey Milliken (Micheal); her son, Kyle Milliken (Clara); her father, Malachi Virgil Moss; her brother, Darrin Moss; her sister, Ginny (Terry) Dill; and her sister-in-law, Lori Moss.
She is also survived by her treasured grandchildren, Harlee Young and Mylee Young, who were the light of her life.
She will be deeply missed by her nieces and nephews, Jessica Nunnery (Trevin), Amanda Bledsoe (Ryder), and Dylan Moss (Andrea), along with numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her kindness.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Sheila is no longer suffering. We imagine her running into the arms of those who went before her—especially her beloved nephew, Austin. Her love, generosity, laughter, and beautiful spirit will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her.
Celebration of Life for Sheila will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 1st 2026 at Generation Church with visitation starting at 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
In true Sheila fashion, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations of cat or dog food be made in her memory to benefit local shelter animals, a cause that was very close to her heart.
