Sandra Charlene (Barber) Whaley, age 76, of Bethpage, TN passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at home surrounded by family.
She was born February 7, 1948 in Sumner County, TN to the late Paul D. and Lillie Ruth (Gregory) Barber.
She was a long-time member of Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church and a retired Exec. Vice President of Volunteer State Bank. Sandra enjoyed spoiling her grandbabies, playing golf, traveling, and preparing favorite meals and desserts for family and friends. Those close to her loved her for her spirit, strength, and her determination. No challenge was too great for her to tackle!
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Clyde Warren “Bo” Whaley; sister and best friend Paulette Barber Whaley; daughters Jill Whaley and Shelley Vanegas; granddaughters Zoe Smith, Bella Vanegas, and Giana Vanegas; sister-in-law Carolyn Burris; brother-in-law Johnny McCracken; niece Lori McCracken; nephew Darren McCracken; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 2 pm to 7 pm at Wilkinson & Wiseman Funeral Home in Portland, TN. A second visitation will be Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 1 pm at Sulphur Fork Missionary Baptist Church followed by funeral services at 2 pm. Interment will be at Sulphur Fork Cemetery. Bro. Danny Chandler will deliver the eulogy and Bro. Justin Farris will conduct the service. Pallbearers are Darren McCracken, Barry Barber, Rod Baker, Randy Baker, Wayne Brister, and Gregg Dillard.
