Samuel Russell Reeves, age 97 of Gallatin, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
Mr. Reeves was born February 5, 1927, in Greenfield, Tennessee to the late Frederick Lafayette Reeves and Mary Lee Swindell Reeves.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by wife, Juanita Lashlee Reeves; and brothers, Fred Reeves and James Reeves.
He is survived by daughter, Patricia Bush (Gary) of Lebanon, TN; son, David Reeves (Cecilia) of Franklin, TN; brother, Charles Reeves (Norma) of Temple, TX; grandchildren, Samantha Briley and Veronica Blayton; great-grandchildren, Sarah Babcock (Jon), Laurel Melton (Bill), Hunter Blayton, Meghan Briley, and Sydney Blayton; and great-great-grandchildren, Aaron Babcock, and Reece Babcock.
Mr. Reeves served our country in World War II in the United States Army. He retired from the Tennessee Valley Authority after 32 years of service.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, August 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 3rd from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow the service at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are John Jones and Paul Neal. Commemorative pallbearers are James Murray, Carl Lomax, Brown Braley, Cotton Chandler, and Ray McDonald.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Charter Senior Living of Gallatin Employee Fund, 1085 Hartsville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066.
