Samuel Boykins Jr. was born in Newsoms, Va. to the late Samuel Boykins and Rebecca Clark-Boykins. He transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life on August 23, 2022 at TriStar ER in Portland, TN.
He is preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Rebecca Boykins, a son Ronald Boykins and a stepdaughter Easter J. Thurman.
Samuel Boykins married wife, Edna L. Scharklet-Boykins on February 21, 2006 and to this union, he took on her 8 adult children, grandchildren, sons-in-law, and daughters-in-law (ALOT).
He is survived by sons Samuel Boykins lll (Diane Boykins), Earl Sylvester Boykins(Kathy Boykins); A loving sister, Eula Lewter(Charlie Lewter); 4 grandchildren, Lynn Boykins-Manley, Tiffany Boykins-Lee, Earl Boykins Jr, and Tanisha Boykins-Pearson; A LARGE family in Portland, TN that loved him so much!; A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends; stepson, Robert Scharklet; He also had 2 sisters-in-law in TN, Jearlean Turner and Delorise Lockhart; and a very devoted brother-in-law, Ewing Turner (Ciji).
Mr. Boykins received Christ at a young age at Bright Lily Church of the Disciples located in South Hampton County, VA.
Funeral service for Mr. Boykins will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Portland with Bro. Dennis Page officiating.
Visitation for Mr. Boykins will be on Saturday, August 27th, 2022 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church.
