Samantha Lea Denton Gant, known for warm and welcoming nature, passed away unexpectedly on December 31, 2023.

She was born on September 28, 1974, in Chattanooga, TN to parents Bobby and Dianna Denton.

She is preceded in death by her father Bobby Denton, her grandparents Earnest and Ruth Denton, Charles Green and Hattie Kelly, and her father-in-law Kenny Gant.

She is survived by her children, who were the light of her life, Taylor Gant and Lauren Gant, and her mother Dianna Denton. Samantha is also survived by her aunts and uncles, as well as her cousins. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs Klaus and Daisy Mae.

Education played a vital role in shaping Samantha’s life. She graduated from Ooltewah High School before earning a master’s degree in safety engineering. Alongside this accomplishment, she also obtained degrees in industrial hygiene, health physics, and chemistry.

Samantha’s pursuit of knowledge showcased her determination to excel both personally and professionally. With dedication and passion, she devoted many years to ensuring the well-being of others within the organization. Her expertise and commitment to safety made a lasting impact on those she worked with. Samtha’s work ethic and genuine concern for others set her apart, making her an invaluable asset to the company.

Outside of her work, Samantha possessed an adventurous spirit that manifested itself in her love for travel. The beach held a special place in her heart, as it offered tranquility and serenity. Whenever possible, she would embark on memorable trips with friends and family to explore different destinations.

Throughout her life, Samantha radiated kindness and compassion towards others. Her genuine concern for their well-being made everyone feel at ease in her presence. She never hesitated to extend a helping hand to those in need or make sure they were taken care of. Above all else, Samantha valued the importance of family bonds; their love fueled her every day.

Animals held a special place in Samantha’s heart too; she had animals of all kinds growing up and she cherished her dogs and showered them with love and attention. Her nurturing nature extended beyond human relationships, creating a loving and inclusive environment for all beings in her life.

In her free time, Samantha found joy in watching TV shows and movies with her family. These shared moments brought them closer together and created lasting memories of laughter and connection.

She also had an eye for fashion and loved curating stylish outfits. Shopping was a favorite pastime, allowing her to express herself through clothing and jewelry. Cooking was an act of service and expression of love that she highly enjoyed doing for her friends and family. She enjoyed making appetizers like cocktail weenies, being known as a sauce connoisseur.

The memories of Samantha’s vibrant spirit and loving nature will forever be treasured by her family, friends, and colleagues. As they gather to bid her farewell, visitation services will be held on January 13, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center located at 584 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN 37066. A funeral service to honor Samantha’s life will follow the visitation on the same day at 2:00 PM.
