Ruthie Henson Salmon
June 4, 1955 – February 13, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ruthie Henson Salmon from Hendersonville, Tennessee. Born Ruthie Mae Hunter on June 4th, 1955, Ruthie departed this life on February 13, 2025, at 69. Her journey through life was marked by love, kindness, and a deep commitment to her family and friends.
Ruthie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her warmth, wisdom, and generous spirit touched everyone she met. She had an infectious laughter that could light up any room and a heart full of compassion. Ruthie dedicated much of her life to her family and lifelong friends.
Ruthie is survived by her loving husband, Randolph Salmon; her children, Christopher Michael Henson (wife Evelyn Gutierrez Henson) and David Matthew Henson (wife Krysta Resha Henson); and stepdaughters Kimberly Colvard and Danielle Salmon, along with her grandchildren, Emily Colvard, Nick Young, Cameron Reynolds, Everett Dean Henson, and Cooper Franklin Henson. Many loving nieces and nephews and extended family also survive Ruthie.
She was predeceased by her parents, Claude A Hunter and Cora Esther (née Key) Wallace, and her brothers, Claude Ray Hunter, Sammy Hunter, and Billy Young Hunter. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in our hearts.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville, 108 Monthaven Blvd., Hendersonville, TN. Friends and family are welcome to attend and share their memories of Ruthie.
The funeral service will take place on Friday, February 21st at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville, 108 Monthaven Blvd., Hendersonville, TN. The family invites all who knew Ruthie to celebrate her life and honor her legacy. May she rest in peace.
