Ruth Winston Latimer Carr, died September 11, 2024 in Trousdale County, TN. She was born in Sumner County, TN, on January 29, 1940. She was predeceased by her father Thomas Latimer, her mother Martina Mir Latimer, and her brother Tommy Latimer.
She leaves behind her daughter Amy Carr, her son Walter Carr, and her husband Charles Morgan Carr, who she married on May 29th, 1965.
Ruth was educated at Ocana School, Hendersonville High School, Martin College, Peabody Teachers School, and received a Masters of Science from the University of Tennessee School of Social Work.
Ruth traveled widely and held important job positions in TN, AL, AK. Her last position before retirement in 2000 was with Children’s Rehabilitation Service for the state of AL. She was always willing to volunteer and served when Katrina Hurricane hit New Orleans and when the Twin Towers disaster happened on 9/11/2001.
Ruth was a committed Episcopalian, serving faithfully as a Eucharistic Minister, Member of the Daughters of the King, supporter of Gallatin CARES. She was a loyal member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
