Robert Leon McCoin, age 79 of Goodlettsville, TN, passed away after an extended illness on April 9, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Nashville, TN on June 27, 1945 the son of Drewie Estill McCoin and Francis Clorene Long McCoin.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kerry Michelle McCoin.
After he graduated from Goodlettsville High School, Robert worked at Dupont as a millwright and retired after 35 years. He became a licensed realtor after retirement. Robert was a member of Masonic Lodge #271 and Al Menah Shrine since 1966. He was a member of the Al Menah Clowns where he became ‘Blossom the Clown’. He and his wife, Beverly enjoyed attending all the dinners and events at the Shrine with all their friends there.
Robert was a wonderful husband to Beverly who was the love of his life. They were married on June 10, 1967 at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church where Robert was a lifelong member. They had enjoyed almost 58 years of marriage.
Robert was a caring and loving father and grandfather. He loved being a teacher to his grandsons; taking them to Nashville Gun Club to learn to shoot guns and to boating classes, Titans ballgames, going to the lake with the pontoon boat, camping and many other outdoor activities they will never forget. He also loved duck hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly Morris McCoin; daughter, Monte McCoin; grandchildren, Michael (Trisha) Walrond, Rob (Chelsea) Walrond, and Samuel Lee; great grandchildren, Lillian Walrond, Scotty Walrond, Hunter Walrond and Lorelai Lee.
A Celebration of Life honoring Robert will be held 6:00 pm, Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Goodlettsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 226 South Main St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072 with family officiating. There will be a Masonic Service beginning at 6:00 pm. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
The family requests donations are made in ‘Memory of Robert McCoin’ to the Shrine Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 78545, Nashville, TN 37207 or to ‘Joe’s Kids’ Christmas Fund.
