Rita Elaine O’Neill, age 91 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away July 31, 2023.
Rita was born on October 22, 1931 in New York, New York.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Gabrielle Santos Preira and loving husband of 62 years, Michael O’Neill.
She is survived by cousins, Lynn Franklin and Lydia Cervini.
Rita met Michael, the love of her life, in the elevator of the Chrysler Building in New York. She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of St. Martha’s Guild. Rita was an avid artist.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 7th at St. John Vianney Catholic Church with Father Richard Childress as celebrant. Interment will follow in Crestview Memory Gardens. There will be a visitation on Sunday, August 6th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. with Rosary at 4:00 p.m. at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to Paula Hobson, who was Rita’s caregiver for the past four years.
