Pauline G. Hayes Obit

Pauline G. Hayes, 90, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at her home with her Son by her side. Born September 7, 1934, in Sumner County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Odell Gregory and Myrtle Tucker Gregory. With a career spanning forty-one years as an underwriter for Commercial Lines Insurance, Pauline dedicated herself to her work and made significant contributions to the industry.

She was a member of the 1953 graduating class of Hume-Fogg Technical and Vocational High School. Pauline was saved on July 23, 1961, at Joywood Church of Christ. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ, where she found both community and solace. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, shaping her values and inspiring those around her.

Beyond her professional achievements, Pauline was known for her heartfelt dedication to the welfare of young individuals in her community. She was a volunteer with the PENCIL program, which links community resources to Metro Nashville Public Schools, assisting young people in achieving academic success.

In later years she enjoyed the fun and friendship of the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Arthur Odell Gregory, Jr., Mable Mai Gregory Carter, Robert Gregory, John Paul Gregory, William Allen Gregory, Sara E. Gregory Groves Wright, James Houston Gregory, Lovie L. Gregory Gervin, and Freddie Overton Gregory.

Pauline is survived by her son, Michael Todd Hayes and his wife Betsy; granddaughter, Laurie Hayes; and several nieces and nephews. Their love and memories will forever honor her remarkable life.

Visitation will be held at Alexander Funeral Home & Cremation Center, located at 584 Nashville Pike, Gallatin, TN, on Monday, June 9, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday, June 10, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. A funeral service officiated by Brother Lesley Chapman will follow at the same location at 1:00 PM, and Pauline will be laid to rest at Rock Bridge Cemetery in Bethpage TN.

In lieu of flowers for her, Polly requested that you “do something especially loving and kind for a loved one.”
