Osia Laverne (Harris) Read, 91, passed away peacefully at Blessed Home Care in Hendersonville, TN on Monday, January 9, 2023.
Osia was preceded in death by husband Melvin J. Read. They were both born in Ashland City, TN and were married for 41 years. They moved to Madison in 1955.
Osia is survived by daughters Pat (Jim – deceased) Parker and Pam (Jerry) Lanham of Hendersonville, and Marsha (Mark) Kohring of Knoxville. She was a beloved “Granny” to seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.
Osia was a loving caregiver to a multitude of family members and friends for many years. She was a devoted member of the Madison Church of Christ for 50 years and the Hendersonville Church of Christ in the later years of her life.
Funeral services for Osia will be officiated by long-time family friend Dan Dozier in the chapel of the Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 E. Main St. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 12, and 12:00 to 1:00 pm on Friday, January 13 with the celebration of life to begin at 1:00 pm.
