OBITUARY: Orilla Dawes Cook

Mrs. Orilla Dawes Cook, age 99, of Lafayette, passed away, Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Knollwood Manor. Funeral services for Orilla Cook are scheduled to be conducted on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at 2 PM, from The Chapel of Alexander Funeral Home with Elder Jimmy Claiborne officiating. Interment will follow in The Anderson and Son Memorial Park.

Visitation will begin at the funeral home on Sunday, January 4, 2026 from 10 AM until service time at 2 PM.

Family requests donations be made to Maple Grove Cemetery or Days Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her Husband, Elder Stanley Dean Cook; Daughter, Patsy Carnahan and husband, Jerry; Parents, Pinkney Alfred Dawes and Ida Mai Reagan Dawes; Brother, Rudolph Dawes; Sister, Mildred Dawes West; and Beloved Niece, Betty Minchey.
