Ola Mai “Nannie” Simpson, age 88 of Bethpage, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Mrs. Simpson was born September 10, 1935 in Gallatin to the late Luther “Tom” Brummett and Missie Ballou Brummett.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Draper Brummett, Pete Brummett and Tommy Brummett; sisters, Martha Clark and Maggie Lee; and father of her children, Billy Simpson.

She is survived by children, Artie Simpson (Rita) of Castalian Springs, Janet Keen (Donald) of Westmoreland, Becky Simpson of Bethpage, and Karen Mueller (David) of Gallatin; grandchildren, Bud Simpson, Misty Deatherage, Natasha Denning, Christian Summers, and ViJay Mueller; and great-grandchildren, Brayden Simpson, Catie Simpson, Jackson Williams, Bella Deatherage, Emersyn Deatherage, Brayden Deatherage, Corbin Deatherage, Langdon Deatherage, and Adyson Denning.

Mrs. Simpson had a strong faith in Christ and was a member of Old Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. She loved working as a waitress at Perry’s Country Crossroads for many years. Mrs. Simpson loved her grandchildren and enjoyed fishing and flowers. She was affectionally known to many as “Nannie”.

Funeral Service will be on Saturday, January 6th at 11:00 a.m. at Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin, with Bro. Phil Rogers officiating. Visitation will be Friday, January 5th from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, January 6th from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sumner Memorial Gardens, with Bud Simpson, ViJay Mueller, Brayden Simpson, David Mueller John Deatherage, Donald Keen, and Ricky Brummett serving as pallbearers.
