Nancy McClendon (Gran), age 82 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
She is survived by her daughter Teresa Bowman (Brian), son Troy McClendon (Stephanie), Lisa McClendon, grandchildren Bryce Bowman (Tana), Brooke Bowman (Chase Waller), Cory Phillips (Harrison), Luke McClendon, Sam McClendon, Dalton McClendon (Karlee Thompson), Dakota McClendon, and great-grandson Beckett Bowman (Bryce), brother Claude Dorris (Charlotte), and sister Dot Stafford.
She is preceded in death by father Sam Dorris, and her son Tim McClendon (Dalton and Dakota).
Nancy was born July 16, 1941, in Nashville, TN and attended East High Magnet School.
She had various jobs throughout her lifetime and retired from Reemay. Her family describes her as the glue that held it all together, the essence of single-mom strength and endurance. Her 3 children and their spouses, 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild were her life, and she was so proud. She was a completely selfless person, always putting others before herself.
Nancy’s trust in GOD was unwavering, she was led by faith and never doubted that GOD would get our family through any hardships. Nancy had a love for 50’s music, early country music and her favorite pastime was watching cooking shows. Nancy will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
A visitation and Life Celebration service for Nancy will be held at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 3-6 pm, officiated by Troy McClendon.
